Ravenswood AYSO
Region 1149

Serving the communities of East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park since 1996

Ravenswood AYSO was started in 1996 by Ruben Abrica, Kathy Nava and Barbara Noparstak under a pilot charter with the National AYSO Organization. It is governed by a Board of Directors, and regional guidelines.

AYSO stands for “American Youth Soccer Organization”, and is the largest recreational youth soccer organization in the world, with around 1 million players. AYSO lives by its five philosophies of:

  • Everyone plays at least half of every game.
  • Teams are balanced as much as possible to ensure great competition.
  • Positive Coaching
  • Good Sportsmanship
  • Registration is open to everyone ages 4 - 18.

Ravenswood AYSO has its main season in the fall, and most games are played at Cesar Chavez school on Saturdays. In the winter, we work with the Boys and Girls Cub of the Peninsula to do an indoor futsal league, and in the spring we pick the best players from the fall season to play in the Pacific Coast Spring League.
